Spaces so Light, Bright and Clean. MFA Degree Project and research

This project took its point of departure in words I gathered from different kinds of contemporary texts regarding Scandinavian (graphic) design to explore how the narrative materializes, affects visual language and ways of working.

I then turned my eyes towards visual expressions that haven't been described as clean, neutral or functional to explore ideas around scrapbooking and ornamentation. The 12 posters were a way to approach, and embrace, the social and emotional value these things can hold, but seldom are acknowledged for in the design scene. A speculation about if the slowness of ornamentation (to decorate takes time) can open for other ways of valuing our time and working methods beyond mass production and effectivisation.
